Who We Are

Here at Helping Our Community RVA, we aim to empower and educate the Richmond, Virginia community with strategies and solutions that will positively impact their mental health and well-being.

We introduce awareness and knowledge of the many resources available in our community that will promote change in poverty, hunger, homelessness, and abuse. We assist in helping to build more substantial households by advocating, helping to develop, and coordinate more tools that promote family reunification and stability.

Ways We Help

Furthering our cause is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality resources to the Virginia community. We provide weekly care packages to include food, blankets, personal hygiene supplies, baby wipes, water, clothes, shoes, and/or coats to our communities in need. When funding allows, we provide crisis financial assistance for temporary housing and utility expenses. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those we serve.

Community Outreach

Empowering Others

Helping Our Community RVA is dedicated to putting our Virginia community first. Our Community Outreach program provides a much-needed service for those in dire need of counsel, financial assistance, food security, and/or other resources. Lend a helping hand and join our efforts today.

Education & Mentoring

At Helping Our Community RVA, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing fewer resources for students living in poverty. Change is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress that motivates and prepares students to meet their goals. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Environmental Awareness Education

We are increasing conscious ecological responsible decisions to create more sustainable communities for life.

Hunger Relief "Free Lunch & Cake"

The lack of nutrition from a well balanced meal, water to keep hydrated, and to help body function is lost among our homeless and low income families. We are serving the homeless and low income communities with free hot well balanced meals, water, and educating them on the importance of a balanced diet. We also provide weekly care packages to include food, blankets, personal hygiene supplies, baby wipes, water, clothes, shoes, and/or coats.

Community Watch

Many living in low income and poverty based neighborhoods have become accustomed to violence and crime. This state of mind creates a divide with law enforcement and citizens, possibly discouraging them from cooperating with officers' investigations. In an effort to build hope in these communities, we plan to assist law enforcement with apprehending and prosecuting offenders committing crimes in these areas with access to surveillance recordings. Crimes will no longer go unwitnessed with the support of community home and business owners’ surveillance data.
